My Philosophy
Consider me your fresh eyes. Yes, I can correct your grammar. But I'm primarily here to help you tell your story the best way you want to tell it. That means scrutinizing structure and syntax while also making sure the reader has proper context (you'd be surprised how often I leave the note: Where are we in time and space?).
While reading each piece, I'm constantly asking:
〰️ Where can we draw out more detail?
〰️ What can be taken away without losing the heart of the story?
〰️ Could this sentence be phrased more clearly?
〰️ Is this a cliché?
〰️ Would this tidbit better serve the story elsewhere within the piece?
I'm quite vigorous in my constructive feedback, and I see it as the recognition of your potential — take it or leave it! As George Saunders says: Revision is an act of love.

How I Work
1. You send me what you're working on, in whatever state it's in.

I take it all. Just shoot me a note about what it is and what kind of help you're looking for.
2. I do two initial reads. The first with no notes — just taking it all in. The second... I go nuts, fueled by the energy of your potential!
3. I send my edits back to you; you send me questions if you have any.
4. Rinse; repeat. (With a new booking of course.)
